Jerry Connor, who worked at CCH/Wolters Kluwer for 24 years, has joined Sage as product evangelist. Conner's recent job change was shown this week on his LinkedIN profile, which says he will be working with products such as Sage Live and Sage View for Accountants.

Jeff Gramlich has left AccountantsWorld. Gramlich's LinkedIn profile shows that he left the Hauppauge, N.Y.-based software company to form Gramlich Consulting in February after serving as president of AccountantsWorld from August 2013. The company has issued no official statement about his departure.

Accounting firm LBMC has named four individuals as leaders in its LBMC PC arm. The four were named in four major practice areas. It also chose leaders in LBMC Information Security and LBMC Information Security.
Intuit Names New Marketing VP

Intuit has named Lucas Watson as chief marketing and sales officer. He replaces Caroline Donohue, who said in February she would retire after 21 years with the software company. Watson will begin his job on August 22.
Watson came from Google where he served as VP of global brand solutions and innovations and had worked there from June 2011.

Sage is moving Nancy Harris from her role in running its Canadian operations to managing its Sage's North American partner and accountant business. Harris who has been EVP in Canada since August 14, has been named EVP of the United States-based operation.

Workflow remains a major issue for accounting firms, according to the findings of the third annual Accounting Firm Operations and Technology Survey. The recently released results of the study found that workflow efficiency was the biggest technology challenge for 34 percent of respondents, while managing workflow was the third largest issue cited in managing a firm.

Before you consider adopting the cloud or any of the "New Firm" mindset, you have to ask yourself if you are willing to be the change. Once you decide, first things, first. Own it! You have to commit. If you teeter, it will be harder. Jump in feet first and feel the shock of the cold water. I'm not saying it won't work if you wade in, I'm just saying it'll be more of a challenge.

The 10 best CPA Firms for 2016 have been named by the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance and the American Women's Society of CPAs. The organizations also said the 2016 Accounting Move Project found that women represent 23 percent of the partners and principals at the 49 firms participating in Move, which benchmarks the status of women in the leadership pipeline, compared to 17 percent in 2012.
